*From the **Nature Moncton Info Line*, courtesy of Nelson Poirier: This
Week's Sky at a Glance *Some events in the changing sky for April 6 =96 14*

On Friday, April 6, the moon went into its Full Phase meaning we will see
it all night on clear nights. Expect higher high tides and lower low tides.
Easter weekend should be a good time to checkout the Petitcodiac River
Tidal Bore at Bore Park. A bore arrival schedule has already been
distributed to Nature Moncton members on the daily mailing list.

The Big Dipper, high in the northeast, dumps water into the dim Little
Dipper during evening at this time of year.

* *

On Friday, April 13, the moon will go into its Last-quarter Phase meaning
it will not rise until midnight and set at noon.

On Saturday, April 7, the sun rose at 6:51 a.m. and will set at 7:59 p.m.
On Saturday, April 14, the sun will rise at 6:39 a.m. and set at 8:08 p.m.

*This Week's Planet Roundup*

*Mercury* is deep in the glow of sunrise.

*Venus* (magnitude =964.6) shines very high and ever more brilliant in the
west during and after twilight. It doesn't set now until some 2=BD hours
after dark. This is just about as high and bright as Venus ever becomes in
its 8-year cycle of apparitions.

*Mars* (magnitude =960.7) shines bright fire-orange high in the southeast a=
t
nightfall and highest in the south by mid-evening. Regulus is just 4=BD=B0 =
to
Mars's right in the evening.

*Jupiter* is sinking ever lower toward the sunset far below Venus. Jupiter
appears increasingly fuzzy at its ever-lower altitude.

*Saturn* (magnitude +0.2) is at opposition April 15th. This week it rises
almost around sunset and stands highest in the south around 2 a.m. Shining
5=BD=B0 to Saturn's right is Spica: fainter and bluer. Saturn=92s rings con=
tinue
to be very clearly visible using a birding scope on clear nights.
