Robert 'Bob' Thomas has a juvenile? Summer Tanager foraging between his red
brick house and the green house on Needham Street off Young Street in
Halifax North. Park facing North (Fort Needham). It's best to stay in the
car and wait for the tanager to come out and have a quick snack of bees.
The bird can be easily seen from the street and within excellent distance
for photography. It is very shy and tends to lie low in the hedges between
two above-mentioned houses, but comes out at times.

The tanager is now in its third day there. The best time is around 8 30 or
9 am when things warm up and when bees come out of the two hives belonging
to the green house.

Birders are welcome to come see the tanager. Bob Thomas was the one who
had the white winged dove several years ago (which year?) and welcomed
birders to come see it. If you want further details, I can provide them
off-line.

Cheers
liz
