Hi All=0AYesterday was a perfect day for Keji's Loon Watch.=0AThe wind was =
light and the water calm. The loons were behaving=A0=0Aas expected - a grea=
t day for paddling.=0ASwallowtail butterflies were very plentiful - dozens =
if not hundreds.=A0=0AThey were with us the whole paddle. A few other speci=
es but not=A0=0Anearly as many as the Swallowtails.=A0=0AThere was quite a =
selection of Dragonflies also. The interesting thing=0Ais the species seem =
to restrict themselves to a certain habitat. Out=0Aover the water were the =
ones with light tails but not so many of those in the woods.=0AThe day got =
of to a good start with a Broadwinged Hawk catching a mouse=0Abeside the ro=
ad. On May 5 I talked about a BW Hawk in the same area. Perhaps=0Athere is =
a nest somewhere in that block of woods.=0AThere is another count the end o=
f August. If anyone would like to join=0Afor a paddle I'm sure Keji would w=
elcome them. The only thing is you need=0Abring your own canoe or rent one =
or something.=0AIt is a good opportunity to get to lakes beyond the gates!=
=0AHave a nice spring=0APaul
