I've been spending a lot of time lately at my parents' home in
Bedford, and have noticed that there seem to be a great many more
butterflies than usual about this year. Canadian Tiger Swallowtail,
Red Admiral, and several species of fritillary, among others. My lep
identification skills are a bit rusty.

Last night as we sat outside watching the fireworks over the Bedford
Basin, I saw a single firefly, the first we've seen here for many years.

Early this morning as I was sitting outside in the coolness, I
watched a Monarch sail down my street and into my driveway.
