Hi Kathleen
Nice work on the Snout. What habitat were you in?? I have also been =
seeing a couple of Monarchs, but not able to document them. Lots of =
butterflies on the go however:=20

Long-dash, Hobomok, Arctic,and European Skippers and one or 2 of Pecks, =
Least and Pepper and Salt Skipper, Cabbage White, Pink-edged Sulphur, =
Silver-bordered Fritillary, American Lady,Bog Copper, Northern Crescent, =
Question Mark, Dreamy Dusky-wing, Common Ringlet, Atlantis Fritillary, =
Red Admiral, White Admiral, Harris Checkerspot, Silvery Blue, Azures, in =
the last week or so in Pictou, Antigonish and Guys. counties. Also still =
seeing a few Can.Tiger Swallowtail, but lately getting hard to document =
as not touching down a lot. =20
Can anyone refresh my memory and a bush that is starting to flower now =
that is really attractive to butterflies? It is ~ 1 m. high, leaves are =
opposite, highly scented, pink 5 petal flowers ( paired?). The end of =
the twigs are reddish, but I don't think this is re-osier dogwood. I =
should know this shrub, but can't seem to find it in my shrub book.
cheers
Ken
