Hi all
Here are my shorebird observations from this morning at Big I. (July =
11) - I am almost embarrassed for small numbers compared to Johnnie's =
CSI huge numbers.

Lesser Yellowlegs-19
Short-billed Dowicher- 13
Least Sandpiper-25
Semipalmated Sandpiper-2
Spotted Sandpiper-2
Piping Plover-5 ( 3ad. 2 y. )
Willet-15

I walked the big saltmarsh hoping for some interesting butterflies, but =
I had just distant views of 2 blackish swallowtails too far away to =
discern if short-tails- but likely Black Swallowtails. I noted at least =
8 Nelson's Sparrows along the south shore of the saltmarsh. A single =
fem. Black Scoter was a surprise on the Strait side of the causeway. At =
70 Gannets, the numbers were down from last visit and 10 Common Loons =
were noted.=20

cheers
Ken
