Earlier in the week there were 9 S/B Dowitchers (all
griseus), 1 Killdeer, Phoebe, the f. Wood Duck & the numerous
Mallards at Miner's Marsh..

The only butterfly species were Clouded Sulphur & Cabbage
Butterfly.

There was one large bee which appeared to be Psithyrus insularis. This
group (Psithyrus) is parasitic on Bumble Bees but are rarely seen (at
least by me). Unfortunately I did not get a photo.

It would be interesting to compile a bird list for Miner's Marsh. From
the species seen so far, this area is destined to collect many additional
species in years to come.
There was a Great Egret at Miner's Marsh, Kentville this afternoon. It
had greenish skin around the eye, suggesting breeding plumage. It stayed
hunkered down on one of the islands, behind a grass tussock., and hardly
moved - it somehow didn't look very healthy. Other birds there included a
single F.Wood duck, an E.Wood-Pewee, and the usual large numbers of
Mallard ducklings.
