Hi Dusan,

Although I'm not a fisherperson, in the context mentioned below, isn't a 
river or lake side location frequented by fisherfolk often referred to as a 
"fishing hole".  So, wouldn't "Virgil's Hole" simply be a location where 
Virgil liked to fish?
