Out on the Bay today for the Hubbards fishing derby. A rather low key
event not involving species at risk. Nice to see some good size cod in the
catch, they seem to be coming back in some numbers, Lots of large mackerel and
many pollock. Interesting to see a long finned squid and an Atlantic Saury
in the childrens catch close by the cove, Also a small sharp toothed fish
resembling a small bluefish but rather deeper in the profile. Three harbour
porpoise sighted and a number of adult Gannets well up into the bay.
