This is the time of year for the native witch hazel to bloom but the domestic ones seem to
bloom more in the winter or late winter. I have a species one and it blooms the first week in
Feb and has the most disappointing blooms one coud ever imagine.Some of the Asian
species are large flowered and quite beautiful.Heather
SEPT. 21, 2012 - At Wolfville Harbour, along the trail into the wharf park, note the witch-
hazel prolifically in bloom with its skinny yellow petals. And the leaves have partially
changed colour, too.
I'll have to check on the planted witch-hazels in the Wolfville clock park, too, just across Main
St. from the Baptist church.
