OCTOBER 1, 2012 - Today below my feeders I found two tail feathers =20
together from a blue jay -- probably a close call with a cat?!

In the Wolfville Clock Park, there are oodles of those mushrooms that =20=

Nancy Nickerson recently identified as Stropharia rugosoannulata , or =20=

Wine-cap Stropharia. They are quite variable in terms of their =20
appearances re their caps. Here is what Nancy wrote on Sept. 23/12:

"This morning I visited Clock Park and brought home a few more of the =20=

putative Psathyrella/Agaricus for closer inspection. Turns out it is =20
actually the Wine-cap Stropharia (Stropharia rugosoannulata), which I =20=

have never seen =93in the flesh=94 before, so thanks for bringing it to =20=

my attention. You can read more about this mushroom here:

> "The flowering plant you mentioned in your NatureNS post is Toad =20
> Lily (Tricyrtis sp.), an ornamental in the lily family." [It is =20
> still in flower there today on October 1/12. JW]
