OCT. 6, 2012 - Wolfville Harbour two hours before high tide -- almost
no mud still exposed -- 10 yellowlegs (gtr.?), 3 semipalmated
plovers, 1 semipalmated sandpiper.

OCT. 8, 2012 - At my feeders, there were two fully fledged and
independent juvenile female cardinals (beaks whitish, not pink yet)
-- I had seen one previously, in addition to an adult female and
adult male, all seen individually.

OCT. 9, 2012 - In early afternoon on a mudflat along the Cornwallis
River mouth across from the Wolfville sewage ponds, there were 15
bald eagles, 10 of them in a tight group "perched" on the mud
surface, actively interacting by displacing one another just like
they do in trees when at Sheffield Mills in winter. The 15 eagles
included 3 adults and 12 immatures. At the sewage ponds were 2 ring-
billed gulls, but a better time to look for gulls there would be
during the high-tide period.

On my drive back to Wolfville, there was another flying immature bald
eagle.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
