My Aunt & Uncle who live in Wallace Bay (Pugwash) lease some of thier farmland to farmers who raise sheep and cattle.
They relayed to me of an incident that happened after one of the cows gave birth. The afterbirth was left in the field and an adult Bald Eagle flew in to feed on the afterbirth. Apparently, immediately, the herd of cattle which included a bull, surrounded the eagle and there was not enough room for the eagle to take off, whereupon, the bull went in & trampled the eagle to death.
I have never heard of behavior like this but it obviously happens!

Sincerely,

Gayle MacLean
