Subject: Lark Sparrow

A Lark Sparrow was feeding with the other sparrows and Mourning Doves on =
the rock outcrop beside the back yard pond this morning. I took some =
distant photos of it sitting in the maple tree above the pond but it =
refused to come down while I stood nearby. It's back on the rock as I =
type this!

A three hour hike this morning to the barrens of the Pennant Peninsula, =
Crystal Crescent Beach Provincial Park, convinced me that summer is =
over. A brisk cold wind blew over the barrens forcing the Monarch =
Butterflies and Painted Lady Butterflies to ground, as they could not =
make any headway towards the south-west. There were lots of =
Yellow-rumped Warblers along the route and one Kestrel.

Hans
