Just received this from Deborah Trask (formerly and sort of still with then
N.S. Museum) who saw this bird at her mother's place in Wellington, north of
Yarmouth. Her message:

Yesterday I noticed one of the 2 dozen ducks at Stoneycroft was limping a
little and so this morning when I put out some corn for them I was watching
for him - there is one male with an odd walk and when I looked closer I saw
that it had a band on its right leg - the band is white - or at least
appeared so from a little distance.

Don't know if that interests anyone, but I can pass along Deb's e-mail
address to anyone who wants to pursue this further.
