Hi All=2C =20
I saw a trio of WW Crossbills this morning in the field in front of my =
house. They were feeding on Knapweed seed pods which is the first time I ha=
ve ever seen that particular food source used by this species. The White Sp=
ruce cone crop is none existent up here=2C this year=2C so I imagine findin=
g alternative food sources is a necessity. Maybe I'll even get them at my f=
eeders once we get some snow covering the ground.=20
I was able to get some nice video of the behavior before my dog spotted=
them and decided to flush the birds to a new location. All the best.=20
