Hi all
On a walk along the Pioneer trail in New Glasgow yesterday (Nov 17) =
Charlie Kendell and I saw an unseasonable Yellow Warbler travelling =
somewhat with chickadees and a White-breasted Nuthatch along the trail =
near Ballentynes Fuel. A few distant photos were taken and I think the =
dark eye on blank face rules out a female Wilson's. Nearby a small flock =
of Bohemian Waxwings were dropping to a bush with red fruit. A flock of =
30 Common Redpolls and 25 Ev. Grosbeak were also noted.=20
At St John cemetery in New Glasgow another flock of 25+ Bohemians were =
tackling a multiflora rose bush, Another flock of 40 Redpolls were seen =
in Pictou Landing.=20
At Chance Harbour, a flock of ~ 700 Bonaparte's Gulls were sitting in =
the middle of the chance and half took off for the strait while we were =
observing them from Sinclair's I. Light was not great. A Belted =
Kingfisher in the area will likely over-winter. =20
cheers
Ken
