I came across a forest pool this morning that had patterned ice nicer
than I've ever seen before. I know there was no wind at all overnight.
Aside from that, there must have been some sort of ice crystal process
and possibly some sort of "super cooling" process followed by very
fast freezing. This is all guess work on my part but it gave a unique
result. I hope you can see that the ice surface is actually scored, as
if it were crystal. Very "arts" stuff but some will enjoy it.
