GET YOUR MUSHROOM FIELD GUIDES OUT! Back in Wolfville, across
University Ave. and just ne. from the old Acadia biology building,
just east of the large swamp white oak, and over an old stump no
longer visible, are nice aggregations of three different fresh
mushrooms or toadstools (Andy Dean's word for those possibly unsafe
to eat). The tan/brown ones look like one of the relatives of oyster
mushrooms?, and the other brownish one in a very tight clump might be
Grifola? (hen-of-the-woods) (a word from my distant memory, but
perhaps not even close to the real identity? -- the third one has
dark purplish caps and white gills with no central stalk). If you
know where the Business School is located (Rhodes Hall), the mushies
are directly north of that building.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
