I had a chat with Jean Hartley in Rockingham, HRM yesterday. She
has had some interesting seasonal visitors in her yard and at her
feeders. Last weekend there was a large flock of Bohemian Waxwings
in the multiflora tangles at the bottom of the garden, the first she
has seen this winter. A neighbour of hers had a visit from two male
Evening Grosbeaks, rarely seen here. This week Jean has been hosting
a large flock of Common Redpolls, up to eighty at first. Yesterday a
Red-bellied Woodpecker visited her feeder.
