Found a Meadlowlark, most likely Lillian's Eastern??, at the last farm on
Chebogue Point Road. Saw it flying low towards the barn and then
disappearing behind it. Its flight pattern was characteristic of a
meadlowlark. It was bigger than starlings. It had a pale, streaky back and
had a short tail with white outer feathers. It was clearly NOT a sparrow,
pipit, blackbird, or longspur.

It's the same place where a few bluebirds were found a few years ago. The
Yarmouth and Pubnico locals should check it out. And it was the first
time I have ever seen starlings sitting on the back of bulls at the same
farm.
........

Did not see the Golden Eagle. The lighting was not ideal to scope the Cape
Light and rocky islands due to the annoying mirage. Johnny Nickerson said
it is still there, but moving around so it takes a while to see it at the
right place at the right time. The nice consolation was brants flying low
in a V formation.

No luck with the bluebirds on Wyman Road near Yarmouth, but it was getting
late. It was cold and windy.

Did some birding in SW Nova Scotia and saw some good birds including the
Dickcissel, turkey vultures, purple finches, and house finches.

Cheers,
Liz
