As there were no tracks leading to or from the feathers, I figured that a raptor of some type had caught one. I have also noticed fewer birds around the feeders of late. I was just looking out the window at the redpolls when I sharp-shinned hawk came from parts unknown and had snagged one of the redpolls and landed on one of the feeders. It just stood there looking at me, and my brain went from WOW to GET CAMERA. I got back and it was still there and I was able to get one picture before it flew off across the back yards and into the woods at the back of the house.
