Hi Dave M. & All Apr 17, 2013
Looks like I must learn how to make smiley emoticons.

But on a serious note, Honey Bees are not doing well either, so I =
understand. We had some very cold and windy weather this winter, with =
scant snow cover, so I wonder if some Bumble Bees & small wild bees were =
killed by deep frost.
Yt, DW

At the risk of piling on with my namesake, David Webster, are not =
Honey bees (Apis mellifera) not also a non-native species that may be =
compromising populations of native bees? Perhaps they are even reducing =
populations fo native bumblebees that are being considered for species =
at risk designation by COSEWIC?

I also looked along Oak Avenue for "Jean Timpa's" DAPHNE BUSHES, =
and I found them difficult to find because they are endangered now by =
some fallen dead branches and many big arching stems of our too-abundant =
alien invasive multiflora rose. The Daphne bushes I found were showing =
some petal-colour now but have no open blossoms yet. We need someone =
with a chain-saw and/or an armoured suit with clippers to do some =
careful pruning to liberate the Daphnes.
