Laura and I watched Northern Gannets scrolling past at about 10 per =
minute as we were looking off near Chebucto Head yesterday evening. A =
Black Guillemot in breeding plumage was fishing down below.

This evening while hiking down to Duncan Reef a pair of Whimbrels flew =
past, silently for a change of pace. At Duncan Reef whilst enjoying my =
java I was surprised to see Purple Sandpipers(30+) fly in string =
formation and then land in the midst of Duncan Reef where they remained =
hidden from further view.

At home in Portuguese Cove we had our first Purple Finch this morning, a =
bright male. Ray Staszky spotted and photographed a Palm Warbler along =
MacIntosh Run also this morning.
