Hi all: I saw my first purple violets for the year today along the Centenni=
al Trail in Bridgewater. I've eaten greens from them in the past and they =
are very tasty. I also found two black-capped chickadee nests where the p=
air was removing sawdust along the trail. These two nests were within 100 =
feet of one another. There is a third nest also nearby as one of another p=
air was collecting a cotton like substance from a plant and headed off into=
the woods with a mouthful. This particular nest appears to be far in off =
of the trail and I likely will not be able to locate it. By the way if an=
yone is wondering I keep records of the nests that I locate for the Maritim=
e Nest Records Scheme every year. James R. HirtleBridgewater =
