Thanks all for the ID and info on the Brown Prionid (Orthosoma
brunneum). And also for bringing up the Wharf Borer.(Nacerdes
melanura). I never heard of the latter despite being around wharves
(salt and fresh water) my whole life. Its larvae certainly exist in a
harsh (saline) environment in coastal areas. Tough for a soft bodied
organism.
