Yes, I think it's safe to say you saw a spring peeper, all right.  We  
only have one species of tree frog, and the sucker disks on the tips  
of the toes would be diagnostic.  A few years ago a much bigger and  
calling gray tree frog turned up locally at Hennigar's Farm Market  
pond, and the presumption was that it had come to our area with a  
bunch of exotic plants from further south.
