  Today=2C Oct19=2C at 16:00=2C I saw a sparrow sized bird with yellow on i=
ts chest
flash by my patio window. I grabbed binos and went to investigate. I found=
=20
the bird=2C still on my property=2C foraging under my feeders and had a goo=
d look.
  I found what I believe to be a first winter male Dickcissel. It did not h=
ave the
black bib of an adult but had some fine dark streaking on the upper breast =
on
a yellowish background as well as thin dark malar stripes. The yellow exten=
ded
to the upper sides. There was a hint on chestnut colour on the scapulars.
  I used Sibleys pg 471 and saw that "my bird" was brighter than the first =
winter
female but not quite as bright as the adult female.
  I will keep my eyes open and try for photos..
