The distinction between the two species of Bean Geese is not trivial. A very interesting discussion is going on right now on the ABA Rare Bird Alert about this. And after a close look at Alix and Ronnie's excellent photos, I am beginning to move into the Tundra Bean Goose camp. Whichever it proves to be, it is RARE, especially if can be proven to of wild origin.
