Larry Neily has upbraided me for not giving a detailed location for the Yarmouth Bean Goose.

Drive S on Main Street, Yarmouth, for about a km from the central business district (Main Street becomes Chebogue Road). The golf course will be on your left. Park opposite the path that leads to the clubhouse. The goose has been feeding in easy sight of the road just to the east on the closest green. It may not be necessary to get out out of your car to see it.

Google Earth has very good detail.

The two species of Bean Geese are not well treated in most of the standard field guides, including Sibley and earlier editions of the National Geographic field guide, which treat them as subspecies. However, the 6th edition of the National Geographic Field Guide (2011) has a modern treatment, although it is biased a bit toward W Coast USA.
