--089e013a009a4f70b604ef8e03ed Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 All, I've started putting carcasses out again this winter, primarily to feed the eagles and ravens, but crows and sometimes hawks and more come in as well. In the many years of me doing this, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen Blue Jays feed from the carcasses. This year, they're preferring the carcasses to the seeds at times. Very odd. I wonder if Blue Jays "from away" have come in and taught my BJs to eat the meat? On my last Project Feederwatch ( http://www.bsc-eoc.org/volunteer/pfw/index.jsp?lang=EN&targetpg=index) count, I had 40 BJs...in the summer I might have 1/4 that.
