Hi all:
=20
Last Friday on the 10th when walking to work there were five male black-cap=
ped chickadees competing for territory. Likely=2C it is too early for the =
calls to have been for territory for the purpose of mating=2C so I suspect =
they were vying for the territory as there is a good food source present. =
=20
=20
Also=2C on that same day there were a number of very vocal white-breasted n=
uthatch pairs. I know for a fact that this breed nests quite early at time=
s=2C so that likely was a territorial calling issue for the purpose of them=
nesting around those areas that I heard them. =20
=20
Today at my feeders 90 American goldfinches dropped by. There was a carpet=
of yellow and the trees were full of activity. Nice to see after an absen=
ce of no birds at all for a few days. =20
