Helene this is great information for everyone, thanks for sharing.  I for
one was certainly not aware of this.

And I agree it's been a brutal winter for birds.  I can tell numbers of
raptors I normally see in my area of the eastern valley are way down, I
think mostly due to cold temperatures and heavy snow cover protecting
rodent prey.
