Hello=0Aeveryone, the NSMC will be held on May 10th this year, rain or shin=
e=0Aas always. For those of you who have never participated, every year on =
the=0Asecond weekend in May birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts across the =
province=0Aare encouraged to record what bird species they saw or heard tha=
t day and how many=0Aof each species were detected. You don=E2=80=99t have =
to be an experienced birdwatcher=0Ato participate, just as long as you can =
correctly identify the species which=0Ayou record. We encourage people to s=
end in their data on one of our NSMC=0Aparticipation forms but NSBS checkli=
sts or anything else is permitted, just=0Amake sure you mark down what coun=
ty you participated in and how many hours were=0Aspent at your feeders or i=
n the field. If you would like to participate and you=0Aknow who your count=
y coordinator is you can contact them for further=0Ainstructions. If you wo=
uld like a list of the county coordinators or a copy of=0Athe NSMC particip=
ation form you can visit the Nova Scotia Bird Society Website=0Aand look un=
der the volunteer tab. There are many counties that do not have a=0Acoordin=
ator and subsequently lack participants. If you would just like to=0Apartic=
ipate and your county has no coordinator you can send your data directly=0A=
