Friday 18 April 2014. 5:30 PM. Old Railroad trail, near irrigation pond
behind Canning, Lions Hall.

Ran into a northern shrike flying between ground and a small apple tree.
Took a look around, but couldn't spot any signs of prey. Bird was very
flighty and flew off in the direction of what was Mom's Diner, near the
Pereaux Rd. Turnoff, on Main St/Highway 221.

I assume this is the same bird spotted by Richard Stern on 19 March, and
Anne and Tim Hall March 27th from the eBird records.

Cheers,
Ian

Canning, Kings, NS
