I tried twice at the eagle nest just outside of Bridgewater today to see a=
ny sign of activity. On the first visit=2C no signs of adults or young and=
on the second later in the day the same situation. I'm pretty confident t=
hat for whatever reason this nest site failed. Only the second time in abo=
ut 10 years or more that I've been monitoring it at a similar location. Th=
e previous failure was due to predation of the young eaglet from the nest. =
On the plus side I watched a hooded merganser female fly into a hole in a =
tree by where the eagle nest is=2C supporting a second year of nesting at t=
his location. Probably the same bird. On the other side of the tree is a =
European starling nest. =20
