Carol and I did the Eastern Shore NAMC on Saturday from Sober Island to
Smith Settlement. We too were surprised at the number of hares {12),
especially on Sober Island. We also saw 4 ruffed grouse on the side of
the road in various locations.

There also seems to be a large jump in the population of Ruffed Grouse.

Coincidentally, I have not heard Coyotes calling in the area for at least a
year.
