Around 8:45 this morning, I was preparing a canoe for water quality testing
at the boat launch on Kegeshook Lake, East Quinan, Yarmouth county. I have
never heard so many phoebes: at least three in the very near vicinity
(across the road and at similar distances), doing their calling thing. Lots
of black flies to feed 'em!
