A few of us spent the last few days on Brier Island. Birding highlights
were male Scarlet (thanks Carl) and Summer Tanagers, male and female
Baltimore Orioles and a Northern Cardinal pair.

The numbers of birds was not great but we did see some variety (about 64
species). Single birds included: Northern Harrier (m), Sharp-shinned
Hawk, Merlin, Black-bellied Plover, Greater Yellowlegs, American Pewee,
Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Kingbird and White-crowned Sparrow.

There were 12 warbler species including a Blackburnian and Canada. 2
Brant were on Peter's Island.

We had a nice bright blue Indigo Bunting at the Midway Lake park on
Digby Neck.
