Re:aerial insectivores,  I have  just returned from a trip to Belgium and
the Netherlands,  where Barn swallows and Common swifts were abundant all
over the place,  and didn't seem to be in the same trouble as ours are.  In
particular,  in the evenings the sky was teeming with screeching swifts in
cities and in the countryside.
