Thanks for posting this Jim it's very nice to hear, I recall Bank =
Swallows nesting in that area back in 1977 when Joan and I walked the =
beach in the days after our wedding.=20

Subject: [ValleyNature] bank swallows at burrows, Evangeline Beach

JUNE 29, 2014 - In afternoon Pat (Hawes) and I walked at Evangeline =
Beach with the tide coming in. We walked west (left) from the public =
stairs near the motel. Someone earlier in the summer had told me about =
seeing bank swallows and nesting holes there. Beyond most of the =
cottages, and also beyond the piled boulders for bank stabilization, we =
got to a long area of tall sandstone outcrop. Here we repeatedly saw =
small groups of bank swallows, many of which were visiting bank burrows, =
which were usually in small groups of up to about 8 holes in each group. =
We can only guess at total numbers, but there were probably more than =
20 bank swallows seen, and perhaps 20 or more burrows? The incoming =
tide prevented us from exploring any further to the south and west, but =
we could see that there was a lot more sandstone cliffs and banks to be =
surveyed.

  Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
