I placed five nest boxes around my in-laws home in Advocate Harbour this spring and low and behold success!!! Both male and female were seen carrying food and entering the box. Thankfully the old pine the box is in was strong enough to withstand the winds of the previous weekend.
I also spotted the northern mockingbird Hans had previously mentioned in alders in the blueberries on the way to Spencers Island.
I have posted a few pictures on my pbase site for those interested http://www.pbase.com/jogden/image/156585516
