It is not too late. Black Guillemots have a very long incubation period - and I have not seen any young of the year on the sea yet.

We saw a Black Guillemot shoot out of this hole on an island in The Rackets, off Heckman's Island, Lun Co. today:

A possible nest hole? Too late? Breeding gull colonies are absent on this island.
