Hi Jane & All,=20

I have not heard one way or another but would expect this to be =
widespread in home gardens. I assume some fungicide is used in =
commercial fields.

To infect a tomato plant, late blight needs free water on the =
surface so combinations of showers, fog, mist & high humidity create =
ideal conditions for entry.

I understand that fireblight of apple is the worst ever here by a =
wide margin; Arthur created entry points and high RH did the rest.=20

Unless we get a dry spell soon I will have to haul wood on muddy =
roads for the first time after 33 years of hauling on dry roads.

Strange Year Indeed,
DW, Kentville

Our tomatoes and those of our neighbors, here in downtown Dartmouth, =
have been decimated by late blight. Friends in Clayton Park have also =
lost theirs. I=E2=80=99m wondering how widespread this is. Anyone care =
to comment?
  Jane
