For the past number of days=2C what appears to be an adult female Ruby-thro=
at has been coming to our gardens=2C attempting to feed on the remaining =
plants (most well past of yielding any nectar). It has shown no interest i=
n our two feeders. This morning it was there again but a Purple Finch perch=
ed near where it was feeding. The hummer immediately started dive displays =
& continued them until the finch=2C probably a bit bemused by the antics=2C=
flew off to a corner of the garden. The hummer then stopped the displays =
& flew off.

Never read where Ruby-throats used the dive displays in this way & if it is=
a female=2C even more unusual. If it returns=2C I will check it out more c=
losely.
