My strong impression is that the autumn foliage is stretching out this
year.  The coastal barrens were slow to adopt colour, and there are still
maples with leaves in many places.  And the city is still quite green.

Another impression is that the woods are very quiet, with few resident or
wintering birds.  There was a heavy migration of chickadees, and I see few
anywhere away from feeders.
