This afternoon there was an apparent Goldeneye x Bufflehead hybrid where Hw=
y 101 crosses the Bear River just East of Smiths Cove and Digby.=C2=A0 Ther=
e is a good vantage point from the road just north of 101 that goes back do=
wn under the bridge, accessed by exit 23.
It was too distant for me to obtain any photos, but it looked pretty much t=
he same as the bird in this photo I found online:
http://www.pbase.com/oklahomabirder/image/148566160
It was not really associating with the other ducks there, but was near seve=
ral Surf Scoters and Long-tailed Ducks.
