A successful day in the field with two teams=2C one team of three and one o=
f one. There was one feeder watcher. Tentative analysis is of 53 species.=
Highlights would be a winter wren at the residence of Dorothy Poole=2C a =
great blue heron in Port Mouton=2C and two double-crested cormorants one at=
Liverpool and the other along Belle Road in Port Mouton. My team had one =
yellow-rumped warbler at Port Mouton and there were 30 at Summerville Beach=
. One of those at Summerville=2C I'm sure was an Audubon. The yellow made=
me think for an instant that I had a different warbler. It was as bright =
as the yellow on a yellow-breasted chat. I tried to get a photo=2C but it =
disappeared and we could not get it out in the open again. Passerines were=
hard to find with much open space. Most were located at feeders. The oce=
an was all but vacant. I know there are tons of sea ducks on this count=2C=
but they did not seem to be around today. I saw a few birds=2C which like=
ly were rarer=2C but they snuck away on me without a positive ID. They wil=
l be left as mysterious unknowns. I usually do not miss accipters=2C but t=
wo got away on me today. One I caught sight of just as it cleared some tre=
es and disappeared. Likely=2C a red-tailed hawk. The first time they were=
missing on this count that I'm aware of. The other I saw flying across th=
e 103 at a distance at about a foot above the ground. Both will be left as=
accipter sp. =20
