Hi All,

Today Harold Forsyth and I were able to see a great show of raptors at the
Hartlin Pt Golf Course, just by the closed gates at the end of the Shore
Rd. at about noon time.

We watched the Eurasian Kestrel put on a great show. It perched, flew,
hovered, hunted successfully twice, fed, and rested in the open.

While we watched the falcon we were also able to see a light phased Rough
Legged Hawk, two different Harriers, and a beautiful almost all white Snowy
Owl.

This all took place within an hour without having to walk from the car,
good thing as it was very windy and cold!

There was also a good company of people watching for the Kestrel, we
visited with men from New Brunswick, Italy, Halifax, and one man who from
Togo was experiencing his first winter!

On our way home we stopped at Sullivan's pond and saw four Coots, lots of
Mallards, a few Black Ducks, one BlackXMallard, two Hooded Mergansers, two
or three Eurasian Widgeons, lots of American Widgeons and a few Herring
Gulls.

A great day, two lifers this week! Western Tanager, Middleton; Eurasian
Kestrel, Hartlins Point.

George Forsyth
