At this point there are still some feeder watchers and five teams to report=
in yet. We are currently sitting at 76 species. I know of one more speci=
es for sure and I believe that we will break 80. We shall see though. Con=
sidering that there were high winds=2C and it was very cold and blustery s=
ome great birds were found. The Carolina wren made an appearance for quite=
a few observers. Some of the other good birds located were a yellow-breas=
ted chat=2C a northern shoveler=2C a gray catbird=2C a broad-winged hawk=2C=
a brown thrasher=2C a northern mockingbird=2C a red-bellied woodpecker=2C =
red and white-winged crossbills=2C two fox sparrows=2C a rough-legged hawk=
=2C a barred owl=2C a ruby-crowned kinglet=2C an an orange-crowned warbler=
=2C four yellow-rumped warblers and two glaucous gulls. At this point we ha=
ve two other species that were observed within count period which were nort=
hern goshawk and dovekie. The dovekie was observed by a 12 year old Newfou=
ndland birder names Sasha Steeves=2C near Corkum's Island by the mussel aqu=
aculture operation. This bird was observed on Jan. 2. =20
